Early works program
Work is continuing safely on Victoria’s Big Build, our biggest transport upgrade ever.
Construction on large-scale public infrastructure projects is critical and is continuing with strict COVIDsafe Plans in place on all project sites across Victoria.
The health and safety of our workforce and community remains our top priority. Workers on all of Victoria’s Big Build sites are required to wear face coverings unless they meet any of the criteria for exception – such as a medical condition or for Occupational Health and Safety guidelines.
Physical distancing measures are in place as well as increased hygiene practices.

We’re starting to build the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network.
This year, builders will be moving power, water, gas, sewer and telecommunications lines so major construction can start from 2021.
Around 100 above and below ground services will be moved out of the way of North East Link.
What we'll be doing
The early works program will be delivered by CPB Contractors. They’ll be working hard to minimise disruptions and speaking with the local community, businesses and residents about works in their area each step of the way.
