As part of the planning for North East Link, the North East Link Authority submitted a referral to the Commonwealth Department of Environment and Energy (DoEE) in January 2018. This referral seeks a decision from the Minister for the Environment as to whether North East Link requires assessment under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act.
The EPBC Referral assesses if the project could have a significant impact on matters of national environmental significance as defined by the EPBC Act.
The EPBC Referral for North East Link is now available on the Department of Environment and Energy website for public comment. The Referral reference number is 2018/8142.
