North East Link part of Victoria’s Big Build this winter
Published: 20 May 2020
Victoria’s Big Build continues in winter with work to remove some of Melbourne’s most dangerous and congested level crossings on the Frankston and Upfield lines. There will also be upgrades on the Sunbury Line and building a pedestrian underpass as part of the Metro Tunnel.
Early works will continue on North East Link. This will mean changes to local traffic conditions along Greensborough Road and Bulleen Road as crews move more than 34 kilometres of gas, water and sewer pipes and drains to pave the way for major construction in 2021.
Other road works are also ramping up across the state with the demolition of an overpass on the Princes Freeway, Werribee and upgrades to the West Gate Freeway, Monash Freeway and M80 Ring Road.
