Working on North East Link

Creating jobs across the north east

North East Link, the Eastern Freeway Upgrades and M80 Ring Road Completion are set to create 12,000 jobs – up from the 10,000 jobs originally projected.

We’re focused on connecting local workers and businesses to employment opportunities and getting the next generation of workers job ready. We’re also providing access to employment opportunities through apprenticeships, traineeships and cadetships, career mentoring and advice.

As we deliver these 3 massive projects we’re committed to finding secure jobs for people who need extra support to find work. We are ensuring that our projects are creating opportunities for people who are long-term unemployed, under-employed and at risk of long-term unemployment.

We’re delivering key initiatives to support local skills development and pathways to jobs on the project. This includes:

  • establishing The Link - North East Link's Skills and Training centre
  • partnering with the Victorian Tunnelling Centre to deliver world-class training
  • participating in the Big Build Apprenticeship Program.
