North East Link will create 10,000 jobs during construction and now is the time to come forward to work on Victoria’s largest ever road project.
Local suppliers and contractors not part of a consortia directly tendering for the North East Link can register their details on the ICN Gateway.
These details will then be passed on to those delivering and operating the road and who will seek to connect with local businesses in building the project.
- Register your business details on the ICN Gateway
- If you are a construction business, register with the Construction Supplier Register
- Register with government tender websites for other contract opportunities. Business Victoria has some great tips

Procurement for North East Link is supported by the Victorian Government’s Local Jobs First Policy, which ensures that small and medium size enterprises are given a full and fair opportunity to compete for both large and small government contracts.
As part of the Local Jobs First Policy, 10 per cent of total work hours will be done by apprentices, trainees or cadets.

As work on Victoria’s largest infrastructure project continues, an Independent Reviewer and Environmental Auditor is now required to assist in the delivery of the major works contract - keeping the North East Link project on time and on budget.
The State Government has released an Advanced Tender Notice (ATN) for its IREA who will play an important role in delivery of the design and construction phases of the project.
The independent environmental auditor role will ensure compliance with more than 100 strict Environmental Performance Requirements set for the project, helping us to ensure that environmental and construction impacts are managed well as we start to build and then open North East Link.
Now it’s time for organisations and consortia to put their hand up and provide Independent Reviewer and Environmental Auditor (IREA) services for the project. Register your interest by emailing: NELP-IREA@northeastlink.vic.gov.au
An Advanced Tender Notice has been released in relation to these services, which can be found online on the Buying for Victoria website here .
NELP is conducting an IREA Industry Briefing and is proposing to carry out Market Sounding ahead of commencement of the IREA procurement.
The deadline for interested parties to register their interest for the Industry Briefing via NELP-IREA@northeastlink.vic.gov.au has been extended to Friday 8 May 2020 at 17.00AEST.
